Sometimes it is hard to see God when we are standing in the shadows.

Depression is something that we should get rid of as soon as the devil attempts to put it on us. Jesus came that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly and an abundant life does not include depression. Jesus also said, “I have come that your cup of joy may be full.” Most depression is caused by thinking about ourself instead of thinking to God.

The more you think about the problem, the bigger the problem becomes, but the more you think about God, the bigger God becomes! Remember what it says in Joshua 1:5-6: “I will not fail you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage.”

If you have a physical problem that is causing depression, here is an excellent prayer to pray. “In the name of Jesus, I command all of the electrical and chemical frequencies in every cell in my body to be in harmony and in balance and digest every bad cell in my body. Father, I thank You for giving me a spirit of joy and lifting me out of this depression in Jesus’ name.”

“In my distress I prayed to the Lord and He rescued me.” Psalm 118:5 (TLB)

God is the same, yesterday, today and forever. If he did it before, he will still do it today, tomorrow and forever. Take time to read and meditate on the following Bible verses:

   I Corinthians 12:27
   Psalms 23 (the entire chapter)
   Isaiah 54:17
   Psalms 1:3
   Galatians 1:4
